• A new species Laiyangia compacta gen. et sp. nov. with unusual female spikes was described from the Early Cretaceous of the Laiyang Formation in eastern China using standard paleobotanical descriptions. • According to the phylogenetic analysis and comparison with fossils and extant gnetalean species, this species shows transitional morphology between early ephedroid and modern gnetoid. • This new macrofossil species displaying additional morphological and epidermal microstructural characters provides additional evidence of the paleoclimate of Laiyang area in Early Cretaceous.

Reconfigurable optoelectronic transistors for multimodal recognition

Abstract Biological nervous system outperforms in both dynamic and static information perception due to their capability to integrate the sensing, memory and processing functions. Reconfigurable neuromorphic transistors, which can be used to emulate different types of biological analogues in a single device, are important for creating compact and efficient neuromorphic computing networks, but their design remains challenging due to the need for opposing physical mechanisms to achieve different functions. Here we report a neuromorphic electrolyte-gated transistor that can be reconfigured to perform physical reservoir and synaptic functions. The device exhibits dynamics with tunable time-scales under optical and electrical stimuli. The nonlinear volatile property is suitable for reservoir computing, which can be used for multimodal pre-processing. The nonvolatility and programmability of the device through ion insertion/extraction achieved via electrolyte gating, which are required to realize synaptic functions, are verified. The device’s superior performance in mimicking human perception of dynamic and static multisensory information based on the reconfigurable neuromorphic functions is also demonstrated. The present study provides an exciting paradigm for the realization of multimodal reconfigurable devices and opens an avenue for mimicking biological multisensory fusion.

The understanding and application for log constraint seismic wave impedance inversion

The multi-solutions from the seismic wave impedance inversions of convolution model and wave equation were analyzed, the result showed the problem was solved effectively by correctly using log constraint. The log affected by hole, equipments and environmental factors did not completely reflect the impedance features of geologic bodies, so the correction and matching to it were the base of modeling and constraint calculation. The percentage of coherent coefficient of the synthetic seismogram to the trace was 70%, which did not meet the functional requirements of optimal solution. Only increasing the high frequency constraint can ensure the reality of the inverted volume. A unified reservoir threshold was fixed during interpretation, and the impedance volume was strictly constrained by well information and dichotomy interpolation to improve the longitudinal and lateral resolution in reservoir description.

Conifer‐dominant palynoflora from the Lower Cretaceous in Ordos Basin, China: Biostratigraphical and palaeoclimatic implications

Open oceanic and coastal marine sedimentary rocks provide abundant valuable records of Cretaceous greenhouse climates, but limited information is available regarding the Cretaceous continental climate regimes. This study presents a palynological report from the middle Zhidan Group based on the ZK1046 drillcore in the southwestern Ordos Basin of central China. A total of 52 types of palynomorphs including 15 genera of spores (20 species) and 24 genera of gymnosperm pollen (34 species) were recognized in the palynological assemblages. Upwards from the base, the palynomorph assemblages in the ZK1046 drill core were not very diverse. They were dominated by bisaccates and proto‐saccate pollen (around 80%), followed by some fern spores and a low content of Classopollis (below 10%). The overall characteristics of the palynomorph assemblages and some biostratigraphically significant palynomorph genera, such as Ephedripites , Jugella , and Rugubivesiculites , suggest that the middle Zhidan Group dates from the middle Early Cretaceous (probably Hauterivian). Vegetation reconstruction points to conifer‐dominated forests with subordinate pteridophyte, Taxodiaceae, and a few Cheirolepidiaceae plants, indicating a relatively stable, cold, and slightly humid environment. This climatic condition was a likely response to the relatively cool global climate during the middle Early Cretaceous.

A description method for beach-bar sands depositing in unconformity of CDDB area

Summary The thin beach sandstone, developing at Paleogene unconformity in east Chengdao area, is an important exploration target recently. Usually the strong seismic reflection generates in seismic section between Tertiary and pre-Tertiary because the beach sandstones overlays directly basement, it is difficult to identify the beach sandstones. It is first defined that the thin beach sandstone distributed along east lake shore in narrow belt based on analysis of sedimentary characteristics. It is also determined that the thin beach sandstones developing at unconformity are characterized by low frequency through forward modelling, according to which the reservoir is picked up effectively from the strong reflection interface. The distribution of the reservoir being picked is coincided with actual drilling data more than 70%, which guides the exploration of the beach sandstones reservoir oil-bearing.
