Ni₁₇W₃ Nanoparticles Decorated WO₂ Nanohybrid Electrocatalyst for Highly Efficient Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

Herein, Ni17W3 nanoparticles (NPs) decorated WO2 nanohybrid supported by Ni foam (Ni17W3/WO2/NF) is successfully prepared via annealing Ni4W6O21(OH)2·4H2O/NF under reductive atmosphere and applied as hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalyst. The integration of WO2 and Ni17W3 derived from a single precursor simultaneously facilitates the water dissociation and H intermediates association during HER kinetics, while promotes the corresponding synergistic effect to form numerous exposed active sites scattered over the nanohybrid. Hence, the Ni17W3/WO2/NF behaves with superior HER performance delivering merely 35 mV overpotential at 10 mA cm–2 with a small Tafel slope of 41.6 mV dec–1 and good durability in alkaline medium, which is comparable to that for commercial Pt/C. This work may offer positive inspirations to stimulate the development of NiW-based highly efficient and stable electrocatalysts for various sustainable energy applications.

Improvement of Spatial Memory Disorder and Hippocampal Damage by Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields in an Alzheimer’s Disease Rat Model

Although some epidemiological investigations showed a potential association between long-term exposure of extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), no reasonable mechanism can explain this association, and the related animal experiments are rare. In this study, ELF-EMF exposure (50Hz 400µT 60d) combined with D-galactose intraperitoneal (50mg/kg, q.d., 42d) and Aβ25–35 hippocampal (5μl/unilateral, bilateral, single-dose) injection was implemented to establish a complex rat model. Then the effects of ELF-EMF exposure on AD development was studied by using the Morris water maze, pathological analysis, and comparative proteomics. The results showed that ELF-EMF exposure delayed the weight gain of rats, and partially improved cognitive and clinicopathologic symptoms of AD rats. The differential proteomic analysis results suggest that synaptic transmission, oxidative stress, protein degradation, energy metabolism, Tau aggregation, and inflammation involved in the effects mentioned above. Therefore, our findings indicate that certain conditions of ELF-EMF exposure could delay the development of AD in rats.

Digital twin-driven variant design of a 3C electronic product assembly line

Abstract Large-scale personalization is becoming a reality. To ensure market competitiveness and economic benefits, enterprises require rapid response capability and flexible manufacturing operations. However, variant design and production line reconfiguration are complicated because it involves the commissioning, replacement, and adaptive integration of equipment and remodification of control systems. Herein, a digital twin-driven production line variant design is presented. As a new technology, the digital twin can realize the parallel control from the physical world to the digital world and accelerate the design process of the production line through a virtual–real linkage. Simultaneously, the actual production line can be simulated to verify the rationality of the design scheme and avoid cost wastage. Four key technologies are described in detail, and a production line variant design platform based on digital twin is built to support rapid production line variant design. Finally, experiments using a smartphone assembly line as an example are performed; the results demonstrate that the proposed method can realize production line variant design and increase production efficiency.

AIM:To investigate the relationship between the loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of microsatellites on the deleted in colorectal carcinoma (DCC ) gene and prognosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma. METHODS:A retrospective study of 58 colorectal adenocarcinoma cases with follow-up data and paired control normal mucosal tissues from 1983 to 1985 from files from the West China University of Medical Sciences Department of Pathology was carried out by PCR microsatellite analysis.Sixteen, 35, and seven cases had well-, moderately, and poorly differentiated tumors, respectively; 11, 30, and 17 cases were staged as Dukes' A, B, and C, respectively.
