Geochemistry, geochronology, and geological implications of the granitoids associated with the Dongfengshan gold deposit, Heilongjiang Province, NE China

The Dongfengshan gold deposit in Heilongjiang Province of China is located at the western margin of the Jiamusi Massif. The mineralization is closely related to the intrusion of the Permian granite porphyry. In this paper, we present new zircon U–Pb ages and whole‐rock geochemical analyses of the granitoids from the Dongfengshan deposit. They are classified as peraluminous high‐K calc‐alkaline to shoshonitic A‐type granites, with enrichment in the large ion lithophile elements (e.g., Rb, U, and Th) and depletion in the high field strength elements (e.g., Nb, P, Ti, and Zr) and clear negative Eu anomalies. The zircons from the granite porphyry are both magmatic and hydrothermal, with the former yielding ages of 281.7 ± 3.3 and 282.1 ± 3.5 Ma that represent the timing of crystallization of this Early Permian pluton. The hydrothermal zircons yield an age of 280.5 ± 0.3 Ma, representing the hydrothermal age, which coincide with the emplacement of the igneous rocks. These data suggest that the Early Permian magmatic and mineralization event led to the formation of the Dongfengshan gold deposit. In comparison, zircons from the monzogranite yield a weighted age of 523.0 ± 6.4 Ma, indicating that magmatism of the study area occurred in the Early Cambrian. On the basis of the regional geological history and the new geochemical and isotopic data from intrusions, we suggest that diagenesis and mineralization of the Dongfengshan gold deposit took place in a postcollisional extensional tectonic setting during the Early Permian.

Highly Efficient Hydrogen Storage Capacity of 2.5 wt % Above 0.1 MPa Using Y and Cr Codoped V-Based Alloys

Effective hydrogen storage capacity is a key factor for applications of solid-state hydrogen storage technology. In this work, V-based solid solution alloys were prepared and the effect of codoping Cr and the rare-earth Y element on the crystal microstructure and reversible hydrogen storage properties were investigated. The results revealed that the hydrogen absorption of Ti–V–Mn–Cr–Y alloys could exceed 90% of the maximum hydrogen capacity within 50 s at 6 MPa hydrogen pressure, and the alloy Ti0.9Y0.1V1.1Mn0.8Cr0.1 can absorb maximum 3.71 wt % hydrogen capacity, and the effective hydrogen capacity above 0.1 MPa can reach 2.53 wt % at 423 K. Furthermore, the dehydriding thermodynamic parameters revealed a significant tendency toward easier dehydrogenation with codoping of trans-metal and rare-earth metal elements.

Zircon U–Pb Ages and Geochemistry of Granitoid in the Yuejinshan Copper–Gold Deposit, NE China: Constraints on Petrogenesis and Metallogenesis

Yuejinshan copper–gold orebodies form a hydrothermal deposit located southwest of the Wandashan massif in the western Pacific oceanic tectonic regime. The orebodies are veins and lenses in granite porphyry and skarn or contact zones between these rocks. Early Cretaceous Yuejinshan magmatism provides critical evidence for regional mineralization and tectonic history. In this work, whole-rock major and trace elements and zircon U–Pb data for Yuejinshan granitic intrusions were studied to investigate the geochronological framework, petrogenesis, tectonic implications, and metallogenesis. Granodiorites are calc-alkaline and have geochemical characteristics that indicate affinities with subduction-related crust–mantle magmas derived from partial melting of a mantle wedge and subducted sediments metasomatized by subduction-related fluids. These magmas have experienced fractional crystallization and assimilated crustal materials. Granite porphyries, monzogranites, and quartz diorites are peraluminous, geochemically similar to remelted granites, and derived from partial melting of the crust. Zircon U–Pb LA-ICP-MS data and previous ages indicate that the granitoids were emplaced in the Early Cretaceous. We propose that mineralization mainly occurred at 130 Ma, while magmatism during 116–109 Ma triggered the enrichment of copper and gold in this deposit. Magmatism of different geological ages overlapped spatially and formed the Yuejinshan copper–gold deposit in an active continental margin setting related to the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate.

Adsorption of Methylene Blue onto nano SBA-15 mesoporous material from aqueous media: kinetics, isotherms and thermodynamic studies

Santa Barbara Amorphous (SBA-15) molecular sieve was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method.The surface and pore structure of SBA-15 were characterized by low-temperature N 2 adsorption isotherm, X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy.Methylene blue dye solution was adsorbed by the synthetic SBA-15, the best adsorption condition and the maximum adsorption capacity of methylene blue by SBA-15 were obtained by experiments, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 223 mg g -1 .The kinetics of the adsorption of methylene blue by SBA-15 was in accordance with the quasi-second-order kinetic equation.The results were analyzed by Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm model, and the adsorption of methylene blue on SBA-15 was in accord with the Freundlich adsorption isotherm model.The Gibbs free energy changes during the adsorption ΔG° < 0 can judge that the adsorption process is spontaneous.The enthalpy change in the adsorption process is -16.623kJ mol -1 , that is ΔH° < 0, indicating that the adsorption process is an exothermic reaction.The negative value of entropy indicates that the adsorption process is a process of entropy reduction.The composite materials after adsorption were characterized by powder XRD, SEM, FT-IR spectra, low temperature N 2 adsorption-desorption.The characterization results show that the composite materials still retained the skeleton structure of the mesoporous materials, but the order degree of the composites was decreased.After adsorption, the average pore size, total pore volume and specific surface area of the composite materials are lower than those of the mesoporous materials before adsorption, indicating that the pores of mesoporous materials were partly filled and blocked.This indicated that the dye molecules were contained in the mesoporous channels.
