A new genus and a new species from the Tanzanian reefs are described: Bacescella muradianae n.gen., n.sp. Bacescella n.gen. has common features with Cumella and Nannastacus, but also specific ones. The descriptions of three already known species from the Red Sea (Cumella forficuloides Bacescu & Muradian, 1975, C. limicoloides Bacescu & Muradian, 1975 and C. schieckei Bacescu & Muradian, 1975) are completed with new information. No Cumella species have been reported from the area as yet.
New leuconids from the Gulf of Mexico (Crustacea: Cumacea: Leuconidae) Second paper that contained records of 13 species of Leuconidae from the Gulf of Mexico. Four new species are described: Leucon papadopoli n. sp., L. andreiae n. sp., L. raduletzi n. sp. and L. serafimae n. sp. Other 8 species and subgenera Crymoleucon Watling, 1991 and Macrauloleucon Watling, 1991 are recorded for the first time from the area, only Leucon americanus Zimmer, 1943 was previously found.

This paper describes a collection of Cumaceans from intertidal macroalgae on the shores of the Andaman Islands containing two new species viz. Bodotria andamanensis sp. nov. of the family Bodotriidae, Gynodiastylis bacescui sp. nov. of the family Gynodiastylidae and five species of the family Nannastacidae of which three species viz. Cumella forficuloides Băcescu & Muradian, 1975, Nannastacus goniatus Gamô, 1962 and Scherocumella nichollsi Hale, 1945 are recorded for the first time from India. Bodotria andamanensis sp. nov. is characterized by having two large visual elements, the first segment of the pereon hardly visible dorsally, maxilliped 3 with robust articles, a short uropod, rami with two articles; Gynodiastylis bacescui sp. nov. is characterized by an elongated carapace, a rounded and large telson, reaching half of the length of the uropodal peduncle, the basis of maxilliped 3 with a short outer plumose seta, and a uropodal endopod with three articles.
The cumacean fauna of the Caribbean mesophotic reefs is remarkably rich but understudied. Herein, we present the description of 22 new species of the family Nannastacidae, including one from shallow reefs, 20 of them belonging to Cumella (Cumella) and two new species belonging to the subgenus Cumewingia. We have also included range extensions and new locations for ten previously known species of Cumella, two species in the genus Vaunthompsonia (family Bodotriidae) and one species in the genus Cubanocuma (family Nannastacidae). Taxonomic keys are provided for the western tropical Atlantic species of Cumella (Cumella) and Cumella (Cumewingia), separately for the adult males and females. Large sampling efforts and careful systematic studies, even in relatively well-characterized regions such as the Caribbean, can yield a surprising number of new discoveries. Our current findings emphasize our previous assertion that the mesophotic reefs are treasure troves of undiscovered benthic fauna and might be qualified as biodiversity hotspots.
