The Efficiency Analysis of the Major Soybean Producing Areas in China

This article is on the base of panel data with out-input of 10 major soybean producing areas from 1988-2007.Non-parameter Malmquist index method is used to decompose the efficiency changes of soybean production.At the same time,DEA method is applied to search the reason of the changes of TFP.The results show that the growth of soybean TFP is mainly promoted by the technical change.Therefore,we can improve the technical efficiency and adjust the production capacity to increase productivity.

Quaternary Intrusions from the Zhongjiannan Basin, South China Sea: Their Relationship with the Hainan Mantle Plume and Influence on Hydrocarbon Reservoirs

Abstract The transportation of magma in sedimentary basins often occurs through extensive dyke‐sill networks. The role of sills on the plumbing system in rifted margins and the impact of sills on hydrocarbon reservoirs of prospective sedimentary basins has long been an area of great industrial interest and scientific debate. Based on 2D seismic reflection, we present data on how the sills emplaced to form a magmatic plumbing system of the volcanic system for the Zhongjiannan Basin (ZJNB). The results show that sixty‐nine sills and fourteen forced folds have been identified. The distribution and geometry of the sills suggest that magma flowed from west to east and then ascended to near the surface. The onlap relationship of the forced folds indicates that the timing of magmatic activities can be constrained at ca. 0.2 Ma. The spatial and temporal occurrences of intrusions imply that the strong post‐rift magmatism in ZJNB was associated with the Hainan mantle plume arising from the core‐mantle boundary. Furthermore, these forced folds could produce several types of hydrocarbon traps, due to accommodation through bending and uplift of the overlying rock and free surface, but it is critical to evaluate the effect of such emplacement when setting exploration targets.

Discovery of the Late Carboniferous alkaline volcanic rocks in the Guyang area, eastern Yinshan Block, and its geological implications.

在华北克拉通北缘阴山地块东部固阳地区发现了假白榴石粗面玄武岩和钾质粗面岩两种高钾准铝质碱性火山岩。地质年代学数据显示,假白榴石粗面玄武岩的磷灰石U-Pb年龄为322±14Ma,钾质粗面岩的锆石U-Pb年龄为315.6±7.5Ma,说明其形成时代均为晚石炭世。岩石地球化学特征显示,二者均富Al、Fe,贫Mg;富集大离子亲石元素(如Rb、Ba和K),相对亏损高场强元素(如Ta、Nb和Ti),轻重稀土分异明显,富集轻稀土,相对亏损重稀土,Eu异常不明显;高(⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr)_i比值(0.710028~0.714745),低ε_Nd(t)值(-9.0~-17.2),表现出相似的交代岩石圈地幔源区和地壳混染特征。将该碱性火山岩与兴蒙造山带晚石炭世-早二叠世中基性火山岩和阴山地块白垩纪中基性火山岩进行岩石类型对比,发现华北克拉通北缘产出的火山岩多为高钾碱性系列,而兴蒙造山带中产出的火山岩则多为钙碱性系列;与兴蒙造山带晚石炭世-早二叠世中基性火山岩进行岩石成因对比,发现它们的岩浆源区和混染程度并不相同,即固阳地区碱性火山岩为受到早古生代俯冲沉积物交代的岩石圈地幔部分熔融所形成的岩浆在上升过程中混染华北克拉通TTG片麻岩后喷发的产物,而兴蒙造山带中火山岩的产出则多为亏损地幔部分熔融所形成的岩浆在上升过程中轻度混染地壳物质后喷发的结果。在固阳地区发现晚石炭世碱性火山岩,代表着古亚洲洋在该时期的后造山伸展作用范围已延伸至华北克拉通北缘。

UHT Metamorphism Peaking Above 1100 °C with Slow Cooling: Insights from Pelitic Granulites in the Jining Complex, North China Craton

Abstract The peak temperature and duration of ultrahigh-temperature (UHT) metamorphism are critical to identify and understand its tectonic environment. The UHT metamorphism of the Jining complex in the Khondalite Belt, North China Craton is controversial on the peak temperature, time and tectonic setting. A representative sapphirine-bearing granulite sample is selected from the classic Tianpishan outcrop for addressing the metamorphic evolution and timing. The rock is markedly heterogeneous on centimetre scale and can be divided into melanocratic domains rich in sillimanite (MD-s) or rich in orthopyroxene (MD-o), and leucocratic domains (LD). On the basis of detailed petrographic analyses and phase equilibria modelling using THERMOCALC, all three types of domains record peak temperatures of 1120–1140 °C and a series of post-peak cooling stages at 0·8–0·9 GPa to the fluid-absent solidus (∼890 °C), followed by sub-solidus decompression. The peak temperature for MD-s is constrained by the coexistence of sillimanite-I + sapphirine + spinel + quartz, where sillimanite-I contains densely exsolved aciculae of hematite, yielding reintegrated Fe2O3 contents up to 2·1–2·3 wt %. The post-peak cooling evolution involves the sequential appearance of K-feldspar, sillimanite-II + garnet, orthopyroxene and biotite, where sillimanite-II is exsolution-free and contains variable Fe2O3 contents of 1·3–1·8 wt %. The peak temperature for MD-o is constrained by the sapphirine + orthopyroxene assemblage, where orthopyroxene has a maximum AlIV of 0·22 (Al2O3 = 9·5 wt %) in the core. The cooling evolution involves the sequential appearance of K-feldspar, garnet and biotite, and the decreasing AlIV (0·22→0·17) from core to rim in orthopyroxene. The peak temperature for LD is constrained by the inferred K-feldspar-absent assemblage and the maximum anorthite content of 0·11 in K-feldspar. The cooling evolution involves the crystallization of segregated melts, exsolution of supra-solvus ternary feldspars and growth of biotite. The Al in orthopyroxene, Fe2O3 in sillimanite and anorthite in K-feldspar are good indicators for constraining extreme UHT conditions although they depend differently on bulk-rock compositions. In-situ SHRIMP U–Pb dating of metamorphic zircon indicates that the UHT metamorphism may have occurred at >1·94 Ga and the cooling under UHT conditions lasted over 40 Ma. The extreme UHT metamorphism in the Jining complex is interpreted to be triggered by the advective heating of intraplate hyperthermal mafic magmas together with a plume-related hot mantle upwelling, following an orogenic crustal thickening event.

Geochemical evolution of the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian igneous rocks from the Baolidao magmatic belt, eastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt

The Late Palaeozoic tectonic evolution of the eastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB) and the genesis of magmatic rocks in the terrane have been topics of debate for decades. We have tried to understand the processes involved in the evolution of the Late Palaeozoic Baolidao belt and magma generation by compiling data from more than 200 samples along with new age estimates and geochemical data. Spinel stability field melting of the subduction hydrated juvenile depleted mantle (DM) is the dominant mafic magma generating process. The crustal granitoids from the Late Carboniferous suite (320 ~ 300 Ma) and the Early Permian suite (300 ~ 280 Ma) have contrasting characteristics. The Late Carboniferous suite is characterized by lower crustal AFC process at hornblende‐dominated and plagioclase‐free pressure, which resulted in considerable growth of continental crust, while the Early Permian suite is characterized by low pressure partial melting (plagioclase stable in residue) of a thinned juvenile crust. The process of the extension of hydrous mantle coupled with crustal thinning from the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian can be used to explain the chemical and petrogenetic features of the Late Palaeozoic magmatism along the Baolidao belt. We propose that lithosphere‐scale extension should have been a key process in the tectonic evolution of the eastern CAOB during the Late Palaeozoic.
